About

I'm Pamela - born and raised in NYC, now living and working in the Netherlands. People think I'm crazy to have moved here for love, and they're probably right. But I can't complain.

On a side note, this is my personal blog and does not express any opinions of my current, past, future employers, or anyone for that matter.

Thanks for stopping by!

Facebook Status

I woke up this morning to see many of my female friends on facebook posting colors as their statuses.  But some were funny like, nude, or pink with yellow flowers.

One of my male friends actually posed the question, “Why is everyone posting up colors as their status?”  Apparently it is a viral campaign using social media as a tool for people to raise Breast Cancer Awareness.  Reports so far aren’t sure where the campaign is coming out of.  Originally, I thought (when I woke up) that facebook had some sort of message out to users saying that for every female that posts their bra color as their status, the more money they will donate to Breast Cancer Awareness.  (ahem, facebook).  It is a fun little thing for people to do.

And yes, it is fun, but please remember to get checked regularly!  According to the American Cancer Society, “The chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer some time during her life is a little less 1 in 8. The chance of dying from breast cancer is about 1 in 35.”

I know times are tough, but if you have a dollar or three to spare, please donate to the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.  The advocacy work that they do goes beyond the doctor’s office and they bring the message straight to Washington, DC on how important the fight for cancer is.

Have a fabulous Friday!

BTW, what is your bra color today?
